I’m an artist

when fully myself in the presence of God, inspired and motivated by the grace and overwhelming love of Jesus.

God moves, breathes, settles, and heals my soul through the creative process; worship is expressed through watercolors, digital illustration, photography, pottery and tactical media.

I’m wife to Chris,
mom of three adult children,
maker,
alpha to an oversized, sloppy dog,
mentor to women,
former corporate communications driver,
creative director,
avid coffee drinker
living in Michigan.
I’m known as Kathryn Craig, Kathy, but mostly Kath.

I’ve been shaped by

the beautiful Hudson Valley, and the grit of New York City,
life with an extra chromosome in our family,
a smallish handful of vulnerable friendships with those who make me laugh from the hollows of my gut,
the broken-hearted realities of racial inequality and systemic racism,
the trauma of spiritual abuse,
healing from it, and loving Jesus even deeper,
extreme winters and gorgeous summers on Lake Michigan,
a family I’m crazy about…

and particularly the guy who’s been my date through it all…

alongside the ultimate kindness of a Father whom, in my running, searching, healing, and hurting, faithfully pursued me into my sixth decade.

my notes and art

are for women and allies of women, both yet to meet and those I’ve mentored professionally and spiritually: gals, pals, skeptics and sidekicks hoping for someone to believe in them. Spurring them on, encouraging, looking out, fighting for, challenging, and pressing in to discover confidence found in grace.

He holds all things together. Colossians 1:17

I decided I was an artist at age six and have never questioned it since. I’ve had a long career in graphic design, roles as art directors/creative directors for agencies and corporations. I recently retired from my corporate life leading a global communications team with a focus on visual/interactive communications.

Art embodies my faith journey, acknowledging everyday messes can be transformed into beauty, even in ministry. I’ve served in multiple pastoral roles in the church as a licensed minister in the Wesleyan denomination, while always working beyond the church, in the workplace. That’s where real life is lived.

Today I lead, mentor, and shepherd smaller groups and individuals, mainly women, and find God’s presence most working in and through me when I am walking alongside people who come with questions, doubts, bumps and bruises, looking for hope and healing.

Continuing to hold my hands open to God’s leading, I also co-lead on occasion, Deep Water rustic retreats for women with a friend, waiting and watching to see where He takes it.
