You are worthy
of love and respect.
As you visit and dig around, I hope you’ll find encouragement, maybe even some challenges that lead you to confidence that frees and empowers you.
Up front, I want you to know I respect where you are in your beliefs. Please respect mine too. I stand confident in grace – because I believe a fulfilled life is found in a relationship with God through Jesus. But if ‘religion’ is a source of discouragement or has triggered doubt in yourself, we may find some common ground. There’s hope beyond it, and I do believe God is in the process of working through the messes.
My sole purpose in this space is to inspire you fully see yourself and know you are worthy of love and respect. You are valued. Process your story and discover your true identity. The world drives us hard, particularly if you’re a woman, and sometimes in situations we lose sight of who we are. As I personally struggled with some trauma in my own life, the view of myself changed, and I began adapting to the external voices that chipped at my truest self.
Then came grace.
a little more context
Grace will lead you to healing. You matter. It becomes the loudest voice, the one that washes over self doubt and speaks truth into your soul again. I happened to rediscover and redefined grace by going back under the layers of expectations, limitations, violations, and hesitations of my life, and tapped into what breathed life into me when I was a child. It was art – chalk drawings, watercolors, poster paints, spin art – and a blank page.
One day I pushed all of life aside and pulled out a sheet of rough, cold-pressed paper, sat with a paintbrush, watercolors and an excerpt of God’s promise. With every plunge my brush took from water jar to pigment to paper, I felt my soul quicken and my heart started beating again. It took time, but eventually overflowed into the full confidence of who God created me to be.
My grace is pretty simple, it’s the kindness of God reaching into my heart and soul.
HOW ABOUT YOU? What is your story?
Your own experience of grace will have commonalities, but different nuances from which God has set apart just for you. If there’s one thing I can’t emphasize enough, whether you believe in God, sketchy about Jesus, or only cautiously curious, pursue the path and purpose God has for you. Go after the actualization of unqualified approval and unexpected joy in your life. Jesus waits with open arms to give it to you.
-
- An external, empathetic voice listening to your heart can be life-giving. Seek counseling if needed.
- An empathetic ear listening to God’s heart on your behalf can be life-changing. Seek spiritual direction.
- Grief and trauma are somatic – they don’t only live in the emotions or thoughts that don’t go away, but reside in the body too. Movement can help process and help release them. Walk it out, paint, jog, dance and allow your body and spirit work together. Do something with your body.
Pursue the extra measures of confidence you were designed for, in your identity, leadership, and life.
