Before you knew the world and before the world knew you, there was God. Your Creator.
He created your inmost being, He knit you together.

fibersEver have a day that unexpectedly unravels?

No warning. No tug. But each inner thought unwinds the tightly woven yarn and the fibers of your life unfurl into a tangled mess, hardly resembling what you were or who you are meant to be.

You are God’s design. His pattern. His creation.
Woven and knit with a purpose, yet…
the unexpected happens. You lose someone you love. People hurt you, gaslighted, abused, or abandoned you. Or maybe you hurt yourself with poor choices and short-sighted love. Maybe your hope and expectations just never aligned with reality.

It’s easy to lose sight of the art of you – the beauty and tapestry God designed you to be, particularly when situations weave tighter anxiety and hurt around you.

For me, the intensity of love and life-threatening responsibility intersected with my heart-weary soul. A pattern of “me” began taking on a new shape. Squeezed and birthed through the labor of haunting words that cut into the recesses of the soul, my knitted stitches got tighter, avoiding the permeation of Jesus’ full Light. My joy faded like an indigo dye. Sure, I was washed clean by Jesus, yet a tangled mess of my emotions and situations left inner parts damp and secluded in darker spaces left in a heap to dry out.

God continued to pursue though, through the gift of community…
Who are you, who tiptoes in and slips into the spaces that conceal the dull ache, hidden even from myself? You scrape the surface and press on grief, stirring sensitivity that by recollection, had long been gone. You, who asks innocent questions that cut through damp, dark silence, bearing the counsel of Eli:
“Go, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.” God spoke.

Everything that is exposed by the light becomes visible– and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

Jesus’ light heals.

Don’t run. Don’t hide from your past. Pursue relationships that lead you closer to Jesus. Admit mistakes and count them as learning. Talk about them. Bring them to light. Embrace failure as setups, not setbacks. Vulnerability can be extremely unnerving, but can bring healthy new patterns into the fabric of your being.

Exhale your aches with others who are safe.
Create space now for grace.
Breathe in.
Life.
